Hotel : Red Lion Colonial Hotel The room was beautiful. the tv screen was rather small. the hot tub was on the chilly side. the gorgeous blue stairs needed vacuuming. the construction of the floors in the hallways seemed a little shaky. seemed like they were cutting a few corners. Read next opinion
Hotel : Sol Verginia Well where do i begin? I have just arrived back from a 2 week holiday with my partner. This hotel is absolutely dredful! The hotel itself is filthy. The rooms are dirty, cutlery, cups, tables and floor is dirty! I think every nationalitiy of FLIES were staying at this hotel aswell it was like a fly invasion. When dining in the hotel there were three choices of food shepards pie, lasagne or steak pie. I decided to have the steakpie which was absolutely not fit for consumption. It looked like chum dog food! There was never any milk when we went for breakfast. Any hot drinks we asked for were always cold. Aswell as this anything we drank or ate out of was filthy. When ordering drinks they were watered down. When we would order a drink from our table we never ever seen it! When ordering drinks from the bar, if there were any russians there then they got served first. It seemed that when someone had cash they were served first!(we went all inclusive) When ordering food from the pool bar the cook would take oil out of another pan to cook with which had all old grease in it. When my food did eventually come from the bar it was all burnt. When I complained to staff they did not seem interested and had a couldnt care less attitude. The room that we stayed it was stinking, although the only good thing i will say was that our sheets were changed on a regular basis. There was no hot water for the whole two weeks. If anyone decides to go to this hotel then dont say i didnt warn you!
Hotel : Quality Hotel Paris Orleans Hi All, Firstly - Our first trip to France and honestly we had to have a really good time in Paris. Our stay was for 4 days and 3 nights and we weren't disappointed. First things first - This is a budget hotel, it is NOT a B&B. Rooms are not that spacious. There are 7 floors, with a balcony on the 6th floor. Half the rooms have a view of the road and the other half face nowhere - so when you book REQUEST for a room with a view of the road. They clean the room everyday, hot water 24/7 and the reception is very friendly. You can keep your luggage at the reception as well and they give you a token. So no worries again! LOCATION - It is just about 50 meters from the Paris D'Orleans Metro. Very easy to locate. When you get out of the Metro which has about 4 exits, you will feel lost as you come out at a major junction of 4 roads. A hint - The Hotel is located on one of the 2 roads on which the Tram runs, so you can ignore the other 2 roads. There is a Paris Orleans Cafe at the junction so just ask them where the hotel is. Once you find it, then its a breeze
How to get here - From the CDG Airport, take the RER Line B and get down at the Deferenche Roisseau stop. Once there, take the line 4 to the last stop which is Porte D'Orleans. The Metro is a breeze, Line4 - Prte D'Orleans, last stop and your home
AREA - Very safe and no worries at all. We are a young couple in our 20s and every night we were out until 11pm or so. Food - Facing the hotel, on the left is a great Chinese place. If you walk on the right and reach the corner and take a left, there is a FANTASTIC Kebab shop whit good Arabic food and sandwiches. Just opposite the hotel across the road is a Store which has it all, and the guy knows ENGLISH!
Hotel : Hotel la Demeure My girlfriend and I spent three nights at Le Demeure. It's really located on the far end of the Latin Quarter. Nice area, very residential. Nice cafes, ect to eat after a long day. About a 10 minute walk into the hear of the Latin Quarter. Taxi stand about a three minute walk.
The hotel itself has a wonderful lounge, free English newspapers, people working the desk were very helpful, spoke much better english than my french.
The room was small, normal for french standards. LCD TV, View of Eiffel Tower. Our room was on the street, no noise at all. Bed was okay. Blankets we used, but overall I thought it was pretty normal for Paris.
The maid did a great job of straightening the room each day.
My only real issue was cost of the room. They have a sister hotel next door which looks also nice.
I would recommend staying here, but look at their website directly for best price.
Hotel : Les Trois Poussins Hotel When we finally got there, car / plane / CDGVAL / train / 20 minute walk (from Gare du Nord - doh!!!) it was still early evening and my partner and I were both impressed.
From the outset the staff were very friendly and the room was more than adequate for our needs. We were there for 5 days and the only thing we missed were tea and coffee making facilities. The various people on reception (I think I counted 4 in 5 days) were all helpful and were able to answer the vast majority of our questions and the taxi we booked for our return to CDG arrived on time at the cost they advised (40 - 45 Euro).
Breakfast was avaialble in the lounge between 7 and 10 each morning for 10 Euro per person and was a simple affair of a cold buffet so we went round the corner where we could get a bit more for the cash.
The bed was comfy and was made each day when the whole room was tidied very well with new towels regardless of how late we made it out. Our room (107) looked out onto the streets and the double glazing was ample to drown out any noise from outside, unfortunately the interior walls / ceiling were not capable of hiding the other guests' movements / toilet flushes / air conditioning drone / etc...
The bathroom is great, well lit, big mirror, spacious shower, wall mounted hair drier, shaver point and nice towels. There's then ample dressing table space back in the bedroom which also houses a flat screen TV.
For unpacking for a week or so there's plenty of drawers and hanging space (could do with a couple more hangars) and also in the wardrobe there's a good enough safe.
There is a small kitchenette which I wasn't expecting with fridge and electric hob - we never used it but it was there.
Hotel : HOTEL RELAIS CHRISTINE We stayed for a week at this excellent hotel. Its location is perfect for exploring St Germain. We found all of the staff to be extremely charming and efficient; nothing was too much trouble for them, even in the early hours of the morning when jet lag was affecting us. We had negotiated breakfast to be included in our room rate, and the breakfast selection was very good. Although the rooms are small, they are perfectly acceptable by Parisian standards. The lounge and honour bar set up were perfect for relaxing after a day's sightseeing. We had a wonderful trip and look forward to returning.
Hotel : DoubleTree by Hilton Atlanta Airport We were bumped from a flight, and the airline booked us at the Doubletree Club near the airport. I am an Hilton Honors member and have stayed at several other Doubletree hotels, but this one was not up to Doubletree standards due to indifferent staff and unacceptable noise levels on the room floors.
The shuttle arrived, and the driver packed on as many people as could possibly fit -- no exageration. Not only were riders standing in the aisle but also on the steps. Several of the riders commented on how this couldn't possibly be legal or safe. The riders standing on the bus were literally crammed onto the bus without room to move.
When we arrived at the hotel, the front desk staff seemed overworked and tired. They were not rude but were indifferent --not the warm, inviting staff I've encountered at other Doubletree properties. One of the nice things about Doubletree is the warm cookie provided at check-in, but the staff was only offering them to the airline staff staying overnight -- not to the rest of us.
The hotel was fully booked, and we were given a smoking room although we don't smoke. That was fine -- the room did not smell like smoke. However, our room was an ajoining room, and when our neighbors smoked, it wafted under the door and into our room, which was a bit uncomfortable when we were trying to get to sleep.
The room we had was enormous. It was a wheelchair-accessible room, which may have been one reason it was so large, but it was tastefully decorated. The large bathroom offered plentiful fluffy towels and a variety of Neutrogena toiletries, including soaps, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, face wash, and facial moisturizer.
The bed was like heaven for this weary traveler. It had a great mattress, a variety of pillows, c Read next opinion
Hotel : BEST WESTERN ACADIA OPERA this is a small and without any luxury hotel, but our stay was confortable. the room was clean, the breakfast enought and the poeple were kind and nice. The location is OK beacuse there is public transportation near and you can go walking to several interesting points of Paris. we have a child and they gave us an extra bed, not so confortable for an adult but ok for her.
Hotel : HOTEL FONTAINES DU LUXEMBOURG The hotel was in a great location. Just down the street from a beautiful park located in the heart of Paris. If you stay here I highly recommend that you buy some cheese and wine, walk down to the park and enjoy at least once during your trip. It was so peaceful and memorable. There is an elevator, but calling it an elevator is a stretch. Breakfast downstairs is good not great. We were within walking distance of Notre Dame (10 minutes), the Louvre (15 minutes), Musee de Orsay (15 minutes), the Latin Quarter (1 minute), Luxembourg Parc (1 minute) and the Eiffel Tower (20-25 minutes).
Hotel : San Francisco-Days Inn Downtown/Civic Center Area Pre-booked this motel with 5 other couples wanting to tour San Francisco. It is right downtown but in a seedy area. Dreadful exterior although rooms are decent. Wakeup call 10 minutes late, breakfast room and office locked until 7:25 a.m. so you can't check out early. Continental breakfast very poor. Terrible parking lot with not enough spots for all guests' cars. No hot water for showers. Does have WiFi in room.
